Growing up Unitarian Universalist was similar. One of our Sunday School classes was called “Religion Without Walls” & was taught by an old hippie who taught us how to tap sugar maple trees for syrup & encouraged us to find our own sacred spot somewhere on the church’s campus.

Yeah, I work at a Unitarian Universalist church that is progressive, inclusive not a Christian church by any stretch (includes atheists, non-theists, lots that hindu, pagan, etc) They are science-oriented, and members are in deep community during COVID (remote programs/chats).
