The UUA announces the appointment of Rev. Alicia Roxanne Forde as Director of the International Office. Starting April 1, Rev. Forde will lead the UUA’s engagement with global Unitarian, Universalist and interfaith partners, including supervising the UU United Nations Office and the Holdeen India Program. “Rev. Forde brings the perfect combination of experience, collaborative leadership, global perspective, and innovation to her new role,” says UUA Executive Vice President Carey McDonald.

Representatives of the Unitarian Universalist Association (UUA) and Unitarian Universalist Service Committee (UUSC) have wrapped up two weeks of advocacy and public witness at the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) concluded it’s 24th session (COP24), December 3-14th, in Katowice, Poland.

The Unitarian Universalist Association (UUA) is pleased to announce that the Rev. Lauren Smith has been appointed Director of Stewardship and Development. In her new role she will oversee the UUA’s fundraising efforts, including Annual Program Fund contributions from member congregations. Rev. Smith will start in this position February 4, 2019.

The Unitarian Universalist Association (UUA) Board of Trustees announced it had received the resignation of trustee Christina Rivera, effective December 31, 2018. Ms. Rivera, elected to the Board in 2014, currently serves as Secretary and previously served as Financial Secretary.

Earlier this year, the Unitarian Universalist Association (UUA) Board of Trustees reported that we did not have a candidate to propose for the 2019 Moderator election. Despite a thorough search by the Moderator Search Committee, there was not a candidate who was willing to undertake the role. In addition, the report from the Search Committee raised specific questions and concerns that came from potential candidates about the structure and expectations of the position.

The Unitarian Universalist Association (UUA) is pleased to announce that Dr. Janice Marie Johnson will become the Co-Director of Ministries and Faith Development (MFD) on January 16, 2019. She joins the Rev. Sarah Lammert, who has led the MFD staff group since 2010. Dr. Johnson replaces Jessica York, who became the UUA’s Director of Congregational Life in November 2018. Dr. Johnson currently serves as the UUA’s Multicultural Ministries and Leadership Director.

One of the fundamental principles of the Unitarian Universalist Association (UUA) is the use of the democratic process. As an expression of our faith, many Unitarian Universalist (UU) congregations engage in voter registration, election reform, and protecting voting rights and democracy.

The UUA announces the appointment of Jessica York as Director of Congregational Life. Starting Nov. 1, Jessica will lead the UUA’s largest staff group which includes the staff teams of all UUA five regions.

“We are thrilled to have Jessica in this role,” says UUA President the Rev. Susan Frederick-Gray. “Her collaborative leadership, creativity and experience are exactly what we need to help move our system forward in embodying mission alignment, faithful practice and liberation.”
