I am not a fan of sitting for the postludes. In my home congregation, I grew up with an amazing organist who played carnival-like postludes. The organ music and our accompanying movement as we headed to the coffee hour was energizing. It wasn't a concert, it was transition music.

I’d encourage you to adjust engagement with toxic Twitter, but don’t be silenced. Not if you feel called to share your voice. Can get news elsewhere, turn off all notifications, use Hootsuite or other tool to post tweets to create a little buffer.

Going to a worship service isn't the best first step for everyone. Some people like going to a movie night, a class, lecture or event where they can see what we're about and talk with others around a common subject, like immigration reform or mindful parenting.

A great exception: We often have Coming of Age services that are 1.5 hours long with time announced in advance. Again, I’m talking general rule of thumb to avoid unnecessarily increasing newcomer / guest bounce rates.
I understand your point, and I’m intentionally being a little cheeky. You can design a great service that is longer. But generally, I don’t see our congregations using time over 60 minutes effectively. Doesn’t mean it can’t be done with intention.
