32 years ago today the Americans with Disabilities Act was signed into law, giving civil rights protections to individuals with disabilities similar to those provided on the basis of race, color, sex, national origin, age, and religion.

While the ADA has made the United States 𝘮𝘰𝘳𝘦 accessible, it’s important to note that more still needs to be done. People with disabilities still face difficulties such as finding jobs, accessible affordable housing, and ways to access support. People with disabilities are forced to adapt to a world that was not designed with their needs in mind. We have a lot of work to do.
