Thank you for sharing this. And for the continued work of BLUU in showing ways we can all live more deeply and more honestly in this faith. I am so grateful.

From @BlackLivesUU "To be clear, we knew this was coming. Coordinated White violence — both rhetorical and physical — always shows itself in response to Black and Brown self-determination." https://medium.com/@BlackLivesUU/reclaiming-our-house-reflections-on-liberation-faith-white-victimhood-a1064e5ebdbe

Many Black UUs have articulated a desire to engage the traditional sources of our faith with depth and rigor. At the same time, Black UUs with a multifaith heritage and/or identity have managed to find a place for themselves within our living tradition. http://blacklivesuu.com/symposium pic.twitter.com/2iLzIB2XQ4

Because providing or receiving pastoral or spiritual care is not dependent on any one set of beliefs or traditions, pastoral care & spiritual care providers make a commitment to relate gently & skilfully with individuals’, their sense of self & emotional and spiritual resources.

For @BLUUMinistry “spirit” implies energy, connection & power. Spirituality is both an awareness of our relationships to & with everything and everyone around us, including ourselves & an appreciation of purpose, presence & meaning-making of the world as we understand it & beyond

Pastoral care is a model of emotional & spiritual support that can be found in all cultures and traditions. Those who provide pastoral care offer support to folks in the joys, sorrows & uncertainties associated w/specific life events.
