Georgia put 53,000 voter registrations on hold, fueling new charges of voter suppression

12 October 2018 at 16:34
Brian Kemp's office has cancelled over 1.4 million voter registrations since 2012. Nearly 670K registrations were cancelled in 2017 alone, but the voter registrations on hold with Kemp's office are nearly 70% Black. **VOTERS IN GEORGIA: if you are one of the people who has been removed from the rolls (your status says “pending” on the SOS site), you can still vote if you bring your ID and the name matches. (Thank you Patti Angelina for sharing this information from Electionland.)

As Election Day nears, Georgia residents fear that voter purges and delayed registrations will hurt black voters.
