Voter Registration

For up-to-date information, visit the Georgia Secretary of State Web Site. There complete instructions on how to conduct a voter registration drive.

I have two forms below that may help - one to volunteers helping with the drive and one for the voter-to-be.

You can pick up quantities of voter registration forms at your County Board of Registrars Office (except in Fulton County, so it seems - details).

How to register voters:

Make the forms available to anyone, without any regard to how you think they will vote. Voter registration should generally separated from campaigning for a particular candidate. At events, a separate table is recommended for the voter registration functions.

Avoid directly asking an embarrassing “are you registered” - rather, offer the form and ask them to pass it on to someone else if they don’t need it.

Do not collect completed forms -  each person should mail individually.

Place forms at places where people gather (with the proprietor's permission). Ideal locations are hair solons, barber shops, book stores, coffee shops, waiting rooms and lobbies. Carry a few forms with you everywhere you go. Introduce yourself to new neighbors with a care package that includes registration forms, which can be used for change of address.

Voter Registration Form

You deserve the right to vote. Exercise your right!
The 2000 presidential election was close enough to show that EVERY VOTE DOES COUNT!!

Fill out the registration form, fold and mail.
If you are submitting a voter registration form by mail and you are registering for the first time in Georgia, insert a copy of one of the following items with your application: a copy of a current and valid photo ID or a copy of a current utility bill, bank statement, government check, paycheck, or other government document that shows your name and address.
You should receive your voter precinct card in a few weeks. If you do not receive it, contact your local voter registration office or call the Secretary of State, Elections Division office at (404) 656-2871.
You must be registered 30 days prior to an election in order to vote.

Have you not registered because of the chance of jury duty? If you have a driver’s license, you are already in the jury pool  and registering to vote will not increase your chance of being called for jury duty. State law also allows other lists to be used for the jury pool. So register!!
